Who can stay on campus?

From May to mid-August, Western University offers accommodations to conference delegates, students and visitors to London. Whether you are visiting, attending summer school or coming for an event, you are always welcome to stay with us.

How far are you from downtown London?

Downtown London is about a 10 minute drive from the University. Bus service is available on a regular basis.

What is there to do in London?

London is a city brimming with activity. You can always find something to do in the Forest City. Visit this website and you will find a list of links that will allow you to explore many of our attractions and unique features as well as a calendar events.

What if I have a medical problem or an emergency?

Should an emergency situation occur, please contact the Front Desk staff immediately as they have been trained to take the appropriate action. Full medical services are available at University Hospital, located on campus. The main number is (519) 685-8500 and (519) 663-3197 for the Emergency Department.

Where do I check-in?

All guests, including those staying at London Hall, will check-in at the Front Desk of Ontario Hall. Buildings are located across the road from one another, however if you will be bringing a large amount of luggage, you may wish to ask your taxi to wait for you to check-in.

What is provided in the room?

Bedrooms are equipped with bed linens, towels, washcloths, a bar of soap and cups. Forget something at home? A variety of toiletries are available at the Front Desk upon request.

If I book a room with two beds, will there be another guest staying in my room?

Each guest who books as an individual will have one entire, lockable bedroom within the suite to themselves. You will be the only person who has access to this room. However, unless you book the entire suite, there will be another guest staying in the other bedroom in your suite. You will be required to share the common space with this person. All suites are assigned based on the gender you select at the time of reservation.

Can I mail a letter while I am here?

Certainly, just drop your letter by the Front Desk in the appropriate Canada Post box or visit the Canada Post Office in the University Community Centre Pharmacy.

Is there a computer I can access during my stay?

There are public computers located in both residence buildings that guests are welcome to use.

Should I bring an alarm clock?

Alarm clocks can be signed out at the Front Desk.

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes, there are card-activated laundry facilities. Laundry cards are available at the Front Desk. Money loading machine, which accepts cash and credit cards, is conveniently located in the dining hall. Irons and ironing boards are also available through the Front Desk.

Where can I obtain clean towels/fresh linens etc.?

These items are available from the Front Desk, on an exchange basis (clean for soiled).

What if I lose or misplace something, what do I do?

Any articles found within our facility, will be held at the "Lost and Found" located at the Front Desk. Items found elsewhere on campus are held at the main "Lost and Found" located at the offices of the Campus Community Police (Stevenson Building). Housing is not responsible for any missing or damaged personal property items.

Where can I eat on campus?

A variety of convenient dining options are available to you on campus. Further details are available at the Front Desk or visit

What kind of recreation activities are there on campus?

Western has an incredible selection of recreational services available... swimming, squash and racquetball courts, outdoor tennis courts (some with lights), fitness rooms, weight training and gyms. Recreation passes can be purchased from Membership Services, Western Student Recreation Centre, (519 661-3090).

Do you offer smoking rooms?

No. Western University is a non-smoking environment. This includes all University-owned property including residences.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is after 2:00 pm unless otherwise stated in your documentation and check-out time is by 12 noon. Please drop off your key card at the Front Desk, as you leave.

What is your cancellation policy?

Reservations will be held until 10 pm on the day of arrival; please let us know if you will be arriving after 10 pm. If you wish to cancel or change your reservation, please contact us or call 519-661-2088 as soon as possible.

Can I shorten or extend my stay?

Yes. Please provide the Front Desk with as much advance notice as possible.

Can I drop off my luggage before parking my car?

Yes, if you are driving to Ontario Hall, you may pull up in front of the building and park in the temporary drop off parking spaces. Once you have dropped off your luggage and checked in, you will need to move your car to the parking lot located behind Ontario Hall. Please do not park in posted fire route areas as this is a violation that carries a fine of $100, payable by you.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not permitted in our residences. Service animals are permitted.
